SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING 27 FEB, 7pm. Kia ora koutou! The sports year is already looking good for Ōtaki Sports Club with tennis well into the swing of things (the players are ace-ing it!); the Ōtaki Kāeaea Women's Football team representing at the Masters Games; and squash and junior foorball getting warmed up. Admin-wise, the IRD has asked clubs to make a few tweaks to constitutions and hence the Ōtaki Sports Club is holding a Special General Meeting on Feb 27th at 7pm at the clubrooms to make sure there are clear processes for the ongoing charitable focus of the club (inc. extra wording for the constitution on processes for distributions of profit/income, personal remuneration and in the event of wind-up.) If you are interested in the club admin and how the trusty group of volunteers make it all work, then come along either in person at the clubrooms. Our four senior Saturday tennis teams were all at home in round 2 this weekend picking up three wins and just one loss. 🎾😃💪--- Our boys' team playing in Wellington Men's 5th grade scored a clean sweep 6-0 win over Titahi Bay, their 2nd consecutive clean sweep victory, and are at the top of the table.--- Our Mixed A grade team scored a clean sweep 6-0 win over Karori United, and are top of the A grade table.--- Our Mixed B grade team went down 1-5 to Waikanae.--- Our Mixed C grade team won 4-2 over Tawa.Pictured are our Mixed A and B grade teams from the weekend. ... Ōtaki Kāeaea Women's Football at NZ Masters Games!Our Ōtaki Kāeaea women's football team took on the New Zealand Masters Games in Whanganui from Thursday to Saturday, battling it out in the 27 & over women's grade. Around 12 of our juniors moved up from Sunday novice tennis in term 4 to Saturday junior interclub this term, in an exciting step up for all of them.And in the first round on Saturday two of our three newly promoted teams, Ōtaki Ruru and Ōtaki Korimako, were up against each other. Ruru (Zi, Xavier, Boston, Darcy and Hunter) got the win over Korimako (Piper, Scarlett, Hineteāio, Te Paea and Mihimarino) in an awesome match with heaps of potentiaI and skills shown as the kids started their interclub journey in D grade and look to follow our more experienced teams up the grades.Go Ōtaki! 🎾🙂🎾 ...
