Tennis 2026/27 for junior footballers under 12
If your child is a junior Ōtaki Sports Club footballer (under 12) and looking for a summer sport, we have a special tennis deal just for you.
Normally $130, tennis this season is just $65 for junior Ōtaki Sports Club footballers under 12 who have not played tennis here before.
That’s half-price tennis for 2026/27!
Your child gets: a weekly training session and plus a weekly session of matchplay. (That’s for 7 weeks in term 4 and then another 7 weeks in term 1).
We use special tennis balls and smaller racquets (plus smaller courts for younger kids) to suit the age and stage of our players and to get them enjoying tennis faster and more easily.
Did you know: Ōtaki Sports Club is the largest junior tennis club in the Kapi Mana area and the largest junior U12 tennis club in the whole Tennis Capital-Coast catchment area.
Tennis is heaps of fun for children and the number of kids playing tennis in Ōtaki certainly highlights that!

Teaching, through fun play, basic tennis skills:
- forehands, backhands, volleys and serves (including correct grips)
- rallying, including net play
Fun activities to:
- consolidate shot skills
- improve body positioning
- learn match strategies, including court positioning and shot placement
