All coaching for junior club members (who are not in the Hot Shots programme) is free of charge in the 2023/24 season. For coaching options for non-members, please see below.

Hot shots coaching
For term 4, 2023, on Tuesdays after school, we are offering a Tennis NZ accredited ‘Hot Shots’ programme run by an internationally-accredited coach.
The coach is great with kids and great at progressing them through the three key stages (red, orange, green) of junior tennis.
Hot Shots coaching allows kids of all ages and abilities to learn and progress at a pace that suits them. All equipment provided, includes specialised age-appropriate gear.
- Teaching, through fun play, the basic swing patterns for a forehand and backhand
- Developing good hand-eye coordination, a fundamental for tennis success
- Improving group and social interaction
Teaching, through fun play, basic tennis skills:
- forehands, backhands, volleys and serves (including correct grips)
- rallying
- transitioning to the net
Fun activities to:
- consolidate shot skills
- improve feet and body positioning
- learn match strategies, including court positioning and shot placement
Cost: $85 for an 8 week term, which includes a fun end-of-term tournament. (Easy pay payment plan available.)

Other coaching options for children
For non-member children 10-12 years old, we have an alternative to the Hot Shots coaching.
It’s a seven-week coaching programme run by club members and offering a fun introductory programme to the basics of tennis.
The cost is $35 per term and all equipment is provided.
Our goal with beginner children’s coaching is to always make it fun so children want to keep coming back for more and keep playing tennis.

Private coaching for children
Group lessons are great, but private lessons (for 1 or 2 children) will really accelerate their learning.
Private lessons for 1-2 children: $40 for 60 minutes
Adult lessons
- Adult group lessons run over a six-week block course (one hour lessons once a week):
- Club members: $50 (for six week course)
- Non club members: $70 (for six week course) with a $20 refund if you join the club
- Private lessons for 1-2 adults: $40 for 60 minutes
Upcoming adult classes
Block courses are a fun and friendly way to learn the main tennis strokes and how to play the game.
Adult beginner group lessons start school term 4 (October, 2023) and we have two options:
- Tuesdays — 1.30pm
- Wednesdays — 6.00pm
We also have a weekly class for intermediate adult players:
- Thursdays — 6.00pm
